About the Issuers_List
The Unified Compliance Framework's Issuers_List is a way to track the various websites that promulgate compliance documents around the world. Therefore, the list presents information about the categories of Authority Documents presented at the Issuer's site, the URL of the site, and the language of the site.
This list is the least structured (in terms of usage) list within the UCF's XML lists, meaning that you can utilize this list in more unfettered ways than any other list. While we say that the list is the least structured on one hand, on the other hand there is some structure to it, which is why the list isn't simply presented as a fully editable Wiki format.
The biggest reason that this list isn't in Wiki format is that it still has to be tracked as a single list, with a single set of IDs, update info, and reviewer's comments. At this point, Wiki technology won't let us assign or automatically test certain field variables. Those can only be done in a database. Therefore, the list is maintained in a single database within the UCF system.
The freedom comes into play in terms of usage of the list, i.e., where and how it can appear, and who can publish it. For information about the governance rules for this list, see UCF_Issuers_List Governance.
